Congrats on your vector! You will gets many years of enjoyment out of it and hopefully many big bucks and bulls. . I have been shooting hoyts for many years and every model is top notch even if they are several years old.
If we were supposed to be vegetarian God would have made broccoli more fun to shoot!
"HOYT" why would you even consider shooting something else?

I have always liked the feel of Hoyt bows! Own a Mathews(SQ2 outdated as hell), and am thinking of Hoyt for my next bow. Any good deals on new shorter bows from them? If you dont mind, how much(besides one arm, and one leg), did it run?

my hoyt crx32 was 874 after tax if i remember correctly.
they call me the bloodhound cause i can track a wounded animal in the rain for 2 days when all it has is a splinter.. sniff sniff awooo

Awesome Bow!! I really like the specs on that one. I shot a Mathews Q2Xl for years and its outdated and slow, but one forgiving SOB, its still loaded and ready to go. I tried to stay loyal to mathews when I upgraded.... didnt work out :chuckle:   I got serious. Got hoyt! Love that longer ATA.

I own an SQ2 TOO....and yes it is out dated as hell BUT I would not trade my life on it ...It is a whackin stackin machine  :chuckle: :yeah:

Bought my SQ2 in 2001 and it is definatly outdated but can still  fling an arrow. I'll probably shoot it for several more years.

ya, i got it when it hit the stores, but i am over 6', and love the short ATA size.
Hoyt will get my $ next, its true how the bow picks you. Got the SQ2 for a screaming deal(loaded for $750 new), but loved the feel of the Hoyts, over the Mathews.

For what its worth, I shot pretty much every high end bow they got over at Nock Point.. the PSE, a Mathews and of course the Hoyts..

I will say that for me it seems pretty obvious where the manufacturer is from. Mathews is a midwest company... and seems very used to making bows that sit with you in a treestand.. see the Z7...

Hoyt is made out of Utah.. seems more well suited for spot and stock and usually come with a longer riser giving a nice smooth feel to the shot.

PSE is just a little too excentric for me.. The Omen has cams the size of footballs.. did not feel comfortable compared to the others.

NOT that either can not do the job well and than some.. but that was my observation. In the end, it just matters what feels the best.

My dad still shoots a Q2 also and has had a hard time deciding whether it is worth upgrading since its such a great shooting bow.

Congrats on a great choice. I'm on my 4th Hoyt...love them. It takes a lot of shooting to get to the point where you have complete confidence in the bow. Suggestion...get rid of the peep tubing once the strings get broken in. I never liked the Hoyt strings and normally end up changing them shortly after I buy the bow.  By a good set of replacement (pre stretched) strings when you replace them.

I didn't know the nock point was a mathews dealer.

They had a monster in the shop a while back.. they dont have many but I was allowed to shoot it as I heard it was a real shoulder problem. Nice bow actually but definitely a brute.
