Good luck. I hope you find a nice fat doe!

What are you hunting- blacktails, whitetails, or muleys?

Disregard that question. I just realized the only thing still open is blacktails....

Contemplating chasing wolves with the camera, but eventhough I filled the tank way cheaper than normal, my budget woes are hardfelt after Christmas.   Might try some taxi work.

Going to hit it hard 1 more time before I put the hunting gear away and dig out the steelhead gear. Really hoping not to eat tag soup for a 3rd straight year but the way this season has gone, I'll probably have the wife pick up some celery and broth while grocery shopping tomorrow! :bash:

I will be out all day today with the old man.  We both have tags left hopefully one of us will make it happen.   A double would be great we have done it before.

Just got back from my morning blacktail hunt and ran my tag through the shredder.  Got 20 yards from a spike, a little 2X3 and his sisters but let them all go.  This year's entire deer season consisted of this morning's hunt, that's it.  At least in the few hours I was out I got to close in on some legal critters and walk out satisfied.

1 deer tag
1 elk tag

bring to a boil, let simmer for 5 min and then add seasoning to taste

I ran my deer and elk tags through the shredder and added them to the chex mix for the party tonight.  There is going to be 3 or 4 hunting guides at my house tonight.  Probably going to get a big ration of crap.    :chuckle:

Just had a bowl of tag soup, that being said, the finale was fun. Went to a spot that I've seen alot of deer in and planned to just sit from daylight till dark. About 8:30 a couple does came in, I fully intended to take any deer that presented a shot other then a fawn or doe with fawn. These 2 does came in about 60 yards away and slowly made there way to within about 35  yds, just about the time I was ready to draw I saw another deer come in, this 1 was a 2 pt. buck and I quickly focused my attention on him. He came into 40 yards and offered a perfect broadside shot, when he looked away I drew and released the arrow which seemed like it flew in slow motion right toward the boiler room. Just as I was reaching for my tag that damn arrow found the 1 tiny branch between me and fresh backstraps :bash:.
Stayed there all day and saw 5 more does, none of which offered a shot :'(
Can't wait for next year and my multi-season elk tag ;)
