16x20 wall tent

I have been looking at wall tents. I think i want to get the 16x20. For those of you who have them (any size) how many cots and people can fit comfortable in your tents?

14x16 with two guys. Have had three and was ok. For a week long trip with bad weather I wouldn't want any more bodies in there. Cots, stove, firewood, tables and gear it gets clogged up fast. But that's just me. And we keep the coolers outside along with the bulk of the firewood, etc.

I have a 15x15 with a 15x9 attachment that makes it 15x24 or can be spit apart and the 15x9 can be used as a stand alone spike camp tent. Together they work great as a sleeping tent and cookshack for 3 hunters or me, the wife( she's a hunter) and our two kids.

I have a 16x20. Have only used it a few times and never tried to "fill" it. I know when i camped with the wife and 2 kids we had plenty of extra room.

Depends on what you're doing with the tent. If you're living in it,16x20 isn't that big. If all you're doing is sleeping in it,16x20 is pretty big.
All we do is sleep in our 16x20. Its plenty for 6 guys on the XL Cabela's cots.

We sleep 2-3 guys in my 16x20 comfortably. We have a wood stove, table, three cots, three comfy camp chairs and night stands. It works really well. If we were just sleeping in it we could easily get 5-6 without the table and chairs. We typically use this for extended trips 2-3 weeks so we live out of it.

12x14, with all the gear, table, fire wood, wood stove, 2 large cots, I think we could have got one more cot in there but it would have been tight. for 2 it was perfect, we did 13 days this year with plenty of room. cooking and coolers outside.

Depends on what you are using the tent for. If you are using it for sleeping only, you can easily fit 6 cots with a stove and small table in a 14 x 16. We do all the cooking/eating outside the tent, and only use the tent for sleeping, storing gear, and the morning coffee.

I will be using it for sleeping and gear. we have the cooking outfit outside. After looking at the size I think i will be going with a 14x16. I marked out a few sizes in the yard and think that size will do it for me. Thanks for the info. I will let you know when and what tent I end up with. Thanks for all the info guys!

Food for thought. My hunting partner has a 14x16 and I have the 16x20. The cost is negligable between the two and he wishes every day he had bought the 16x20. These are truck camping tents unless you use a pack train so bigger is always better. For the most part they are a 2 person set up regardless of size. I have set mine up by myself, but it was a pain in the butt. You can never make it bigger.....
Good luck.

If you're going to use a woodburner in it this will change the number of people by a lot.
My 12x14 would sleep three to four easy, until I put a stove in and then three is max.

Make sure you get 5 foot or larger sidewalls. There is a guy in Buckley that has been trying to sell a couple of dandy's on Craigslist in the sporting goods area. The look nice. I would of jumped on them If we didn't allready have 3......
