Great day!
« on: December 31, 2011, 04:19:22 PM »
Today Wigeondeke and I hunted and limited out on pintails within the first hour of hunting.  Got some mallards, teal, and a goose shortly after.  I had to stop shooting after the mallard due to a Xpert HB steel shot  by winchester expanding too wide  inside my gun.   :bash: :bash: :bash:  It was a great day on the water

Don't worry, this morning we went to jump shoot a spot that all the birds were going to, snuck up on it perfect, kicked up at least 200+ mallards and *click* *click*  :bash: (insert lots of cuss words) I was so mad and won't be shooting those shells anymore. I switched back to my trusty kent steel and they went off without a problem.

 Seth,
Thank you again for letting hunt with you! That was a fun time & good hunt. The last time I shot a honker was prolly 10 yrs ago.
Definately a top 5 hunt for me in WA.

I attached the glory pic on the tailgate :-P

Next time break off a willow or a straight branch and nock out the shell.  Then check to make sure the barrel is clear.  Congrats!
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

We tried that. Reeds were very wet & kept breaking and the branch wasn't long enough. I thought we could remove the barrel, but the cap was stuck and no pliers.

If you don't mind my asking, what were you shooting?

Was this on the island?   Me and my 10 year old were out tonight and ended up with a couple pintails.  One only had 1 leg.  The missing leg was completely healed over though.  Pretty neat.  They were everywhere but that was all we were seeing.  We had a blast though.  Back at it tomorrow.
