I like it!!! I'm glad to see that somebody is going to make a true 300gr LR hunting bullet. The 300gr MK works, but I'm still not convinced that it's a good hunting bullet.

I'm just as interested in the 200gr 35cal Accubond. That's exactly what the 358 Win needed!

Be interesting to see what you guys think of it after testing.
I have no complaints with the MK's performance on animals and with a BC of .768 I don't know if I would be ready to dropped down to a Nosler with a .720?
Do you know if it's a true .720? I know when Berger first was coming out with their 300 grain .338 they were claiming a BC of over .9!
I think they have dropped that down to a .818 now but that still whoops up on the MK pretty good!
I was reading about rumors of "nose slump" with the new Bergers, but turns out that was only out of the .338 super mags like the Lapua improved.
Sounds like the 300 grain Berger may be the way to go for us guys shooting the Weatherby, Edge , Rum .338's
One of my buddies just switched from the MK's to the Berger and said he is getting 12" less drop at 1020Y with the same zero out of both rounds.
I know I deff want to give the Bergers a try! Might have to test the Nosler too though.

  Nice to have a bigger bullet available for .338 that isn't a paper hole puncher!  Looking forward to giving it a try...should give that retumbo a good workout.

I have played with my 200g some but not as much as I would like. I have seen my accubonds open well and still perform well at what I figure is around 1500fps. Most companies say 1800fps. But some bullets need more to really open and some need less then what they say the minimum is.

I am excited to try them. Most of "if not all" of the other 300g bullets are more build for tactical use or whole punching. Do they kill animals, hell yes. But its nice to see a true bullet built for hunting in the 300g size.

They have been working on these for awhile a long with a few other goodies that no one was supposed to really be talking about until it was released. So when I got my books I had to post it up to share.

Yeah kinda, they put out a new 7mm 168ghpt in 250ct. that the custom competition bullet.

They put out a new 6.5 in 140 ballistic tip which will be great for those guys running 6.5 like the grendel.

Then they also put out a 200g accubond in the .358

They have new loads and new ammunition for 2012. The varmageddon looks pretty sweet.

They also have a new safari line up of loaded ammo.

nose slump was experienced with the 1st generation berger 300 grainers about 2800-2850 fps. so yeah probly mostly in super mags. it is fixed with the 2nd generation. berger still recomends around 2650 fps muzzle velocity for best accuracy. thats what they told my cousin with the 338-378 wby. thats where he is shooting them and is getting .6-.7 MOA out to 500 yards. loaded to magazine length.

I had no idea Noslers 7th Edition was available, thats like the bible of reloading. The 140gr 6.5 Accubond is great. The 300gr .338 Accubond will be the ticket, my expirience has been that the Accubonds shoot right along with the match bullets for accuracy, should be a " Giant " killer.

The accubonds are always great in all of my guns. My 340 shoots well under moa with the 200g bullets.

Andrew, that 200 Grain .35 Accubond will work well in a .35 Whelen Ackley Improved also!

Hey Guys! I also wanted to let you know for the guys not handloading there is a lot of new magnum loads offered this year. Including one for the lapua

Also jacked up they are now doing 270wsm brass. They have also added 17rem/221 rem fireball/222rem/223rem all those but the 270wsm are in 100ct boxes.

.375 300gr Accubond! The .375 Ultra will love them. I guess I can just hope for a .458 Accubond of one sort or another next go around. Preferably in the 375-400 gr range.

Interesting.. I know 2 guys shooting the gen 2 at around 2815 and having great luck.
I have read several bad reviews from te Gen 1 though.

The 338-378 wby is easily capable of.sending these at 2800+ but in our experience accuracy fell off. One call to Berger and they said slow.them down and see better accuracy. Maybe the rum/edge cases will be more accurate at higher velocity. This is just the information we received from.Berger when working a load for the wby accumark. Their testing of the same gun showed this and it also worked for my cousin. I don't have any experience withthe other 338 cartridges.

They are just as accurate as the SMK.  Groups in the .1's and .2's are pretty common.  Using the same powder charge I get another 30fps with the Bergers.  The .818bc seems to be spot on out to 1200.  In order to get things to match up further I needed to input some additional bc's for some lower velocity bands in my pda.  Then things match up at the mile mark.  Not sure how they work on critters yet.  Will be testing that in 2012.  The downside is that they don't seem to like more than about .015" jump.  Better than the normal VLD style bullets, but not as friendly as the SMK's are.  Having used the SMK on alot of critters from close to really far, its performance on game has been perfect.  I am hoping for the same with the Bergers.  If the Noslers do have that high of a BC as stated, they should be a good bullet.  By the looks of them, I think its a little inflated, but we shall see.

No, to my knowledge the majority of the standard Accubonds sold for reloading are non canular. Nosler does do many of the Accubonds with a canular for ammunition manufacturers. such as Winchester , Federal Etc.Which use a crimp on their factory loaded ammunition. I have purchased many Accubonds through Nosler that do have a canular, these were marked as seconds or they were sold to me as overruns/extras from ammuntion manufacturers orders. I have got smoking deals on new not seconds, canular Accubonds through Nosler that were over runs.

Such as .257 110gr Accubonds, I would buy them 500 or so at a time for almost half price. They weren't seconds, just overruns. I still have a bunch with canulars and all of the 110 Accubonds I have purchased locally do not have a canular. I also have a bunch of .30 cal 180gr Accubonds with a canular purchased the same way but all of the ones I purchased locally do not have a canular.

Yeah the picture in my book shows it not to have a cannelure. Like hammer said I am sure they will be making some with it for the ammo companies that load them. Not sure how many will be using the 300g in most of the loaded ammo.
