The World Contest......
« on: January 04, 2012, 07:19:38 PM »
This is for anyone who would know about the world coyote calling contest.  I have been waiting pactiently for the contest to come back to Nevada.  Al Morris came to town a couple years back and i thought he said that it would be in Nevada again in 2012.  I have a lot of ground to hunt in S.E Oregon not far from Nevada and was really want to compete.  I have been looking around and it seems as though the event has been bought out and may be in Texas next year.  Can anyone confirm this and does this mean that it may never come back to Nevada?

Jerry, that was where i started my search and they dont have anything posted on the events board.  I googled it and couldnt find much except a bunch on the past hunts and results so i am a little confused.  I even tried the NPHA website on their events board and nothing posted.  I got a kick out of Al, he sure seems genuine and a good guy to be around.  I must have talked to him for about a hour after his seminar, pretty much just picking his brain about his philosophy and mindset on competitions.  I will keep looking around, thanks for the info.

Bearman, are you thinking it is in Elko?  I thought they made a two year stand at different locations then moved on the keep the "locals" from cornering the market.  I have always wanted to compete on a larger scale.  I know the competition is much stronger and that is what i want, plus a larger show usually means guys that are a little more on the up and up.

Thanx Jerry that would be great.  I know it is a while till the tourney but the more i have to prepare the better.  We are headed to the area we would hunt in Febuary and would like to start mapping out a route for when the tourney comes.  If you could even ask him for some contact info on a website i could go to get dates and a register form that would be really good.  Thanx again Jerry and i really appreciate it.

Thanx again Jerry.  If you dont want to put his number on here feel free to send me a PM.  I have done a couple smaller tourneys but they have left a bad taste in my mouth due to cheating and lack of planning on the hosts part.  I really want to compete with the best of the best and see how i stack up, plus the experience would be great.  I dont know which level i want to enter into, but after the trip in Febuary, i will know more about what kind of numbers we can pull off.  Talk at ya later.
