Money for Wolf Management
« on: January 04, 2012, 08:52:22 AM »
WDFW has made a request to the Governor for $355,000.00 for Wolf Management. These funds are currently in an untouchable Wildlife Account. From what I understand this money is license plate money. I believe it was Orca plates.

This is the answer I was given when I asked them to produce proof of funding and resources to Manage Wolves. This was one of the sources that was discussed in several of the Wolf meetings.

The request for these funds is now on record

What will the money go towards?  What will they consider "Wolf management"?

This money if received is earmarked for the verification, collaring & tracking wolves....

I wonder if someone offered the department 10 million dollars, if they would wipe out the wolf program, what would happen?  After all, IT IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY in Olympia.. never about the wildlife or the hunters...
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

The long term Wolf plan is aimed at ending hunting and taking away guns......plain and simple.

355K is not alot of monies, even if it is renewed each year.  My guess is you will see a couple of new positions quietly created and filled that will eat up most of the money.  This is what political machines do to pay back those that put forth alot of time and energy to make something happen that helps obtain goals.  I will be surprised if it is not so.

I think as long as we have the current administration in tact, there will only be a minimum attempt at wolf management, and certainly nothing that will produce  evidence of  what we all know is happening.

Where the WDFW in Olympia is concerned, dont believe anything they say or you hear, and only believe half of what you see.   The last 20 years of paying attention to their dealings has removed even the idea of trusting them.  I truley blieve their mission is to quietly and slowly run it into the ground......... :twocents:

Wdfw sucks! Plain and simple! They don't give a crap about hunters and fishermen. They care about the hippies and democrats in Olympia that back their play and they care about money! Period! That's what theyve proven

We all hold "ethics" as the holy cornerstone of hunting. Well, what about WDFW and thier ethics?

The department stated in public meetings the price would be a minimum of $500,000.  From other states experience the cost will be $2 to 5 million.  Effective program?  Where did we find these people?

Exactly! Why are they thinking that they are more efficient than other states that have already succeeded? Wdfw doesnt know management from a whole in the ground! I'm not saying there arent great opportunities to harvest respectable critters in this state cause I've done it but I am saying that other states are better at managing, have more quality animals and charge less for their residents to hunt? So essentially were paying more for less and have to deal with wolves that we can't manage effectively! :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:

The governor has not released it to them yet.  :dunno:   :bash:  it seems useless to share something positive. I'll just keep it to myself  from now on.

I don't want even a single penny of my hunting or fishing license fees to be going toward WDFW's mismanagement of wolves.  So, that may be good news that they are requesting money, however, what I need to know before I decide to purchase a 2012 hunting or fishing license is: how much money from my license fees will go toward wolf mismanagement?

In other words, is the money they are requesting in addition to other funds they already are using???.......I would think so.........but I don't know???
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

The only way I would want my money going towards wolf management is if it's to supply more paper so I can get a printed wolf tag! That way we can do the managing! Until then the wolves are doing a great job at OVER managing our deer and elk herds!
