I am a fan of breaking both shoulders.  I like when they drop right where they're standing and I don't have to go look for them.

That having been said, the neck shot was my stepdad's favorite, and didn't waste as much meat (if it's done right)....Dad would have been proud of this one... :chuckle:
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Just above the front leg.....Used a soft tip ammo, he did a 360 and dropped, didn't ruin the meat nor his leg..After cleaning him the bullet mushroomed up, and severed his throat.
Hey grunt, a liitle hint take you shell holder and cut a tiny hole in the bottom back and put your sling swivel threw it and it won't slide up toward the grip anymore  ;)

Cant count how many deer and elk I have taken with neck shots.None went anywhere but straight down. The last few years I dont do it as much as I used to.Dont know why. Did shoot an elk in the neck from about 100 yards with my muzzy a couple years ago.He was standing looking straight at me.Figured I would either kill him or miss him.Fortunately it dropped him in his tracks.

90% of the time its the head or neck..If I do have to shoot for the body, its a spine shot.. I hate tracking..

If they're close enough, right in the ear, or the neck, depending on what's available. Too far for that it's right behind the shoulder.  I hate wasting meat.
