Was a freaking awesome way to close out the year seen lots of goats this day started early ended late but where I shot this guy was a very awesome looking place overlooking the klickitat river in the closed area of the reservation. Went to two different areas that have goats there are a few more but we started out by helping look for the two lost tribal members that day. Went an drove looking at some here an there an went to another spot hiked out to the cliffs over looking tha river spotted some across tha canyon decided to hike over to get a better look when we got straight across from the ones we spotted an was checking them out my nephew looks back towards the first spot we walked out on and glassed an spotted them on a knife ridge just to tha north of where we first glassed. Ranged it at 660 yards. I said lets see how close we can get. All agreed cause we had plenty of time being noon an all. We get over towards them an we can see them watching us through the trees at around 220 yards. We had a hard time finding tha way to them oh by tha way there was three of them. Finally finding a way down an few cliffs that we had to slide down an another we lucked out an a fir tree had some good branches to help us get off with out falling but I knocked a couple rocks off cause they were loose an the first rock dropped an stopped the second hit the first an continued down the hill making a lot of noise an I thought they was gonna bolt an the stalk was over but we kept at it inching our way down the cliffs we get to where I was gonna shoot from an I can't get a good shot so we waited an finally he steps out just right an its a now or never an I better drop him on tha spot as its sheer off each side of him at sixty yards the 308 is aimed at his neck where it meets the shoulder an fire off my handloaded 180gr accubonds dropping him where he stood an the other two just go a lil ways an watch as we walk out to check him out. He measured out at 9" 5 1/8"

Beautiful hide on that goat. Congrats. Wish our goat tags were something less than impossible to draw.

Yes we draw for them but man its hard to tell how long the horns are that's for sure do you guys know of the best way we was tryna guess the ear length we could tell he was a nice one an 9" is a good goat right? Was a hellva hike out but we got off the cliffs we crawled down an topped out an it just down poured. An still a hike to get back to the truck an was soaked by that time we got to the truck was awesome to see my nephew all pumped up lol
