Well, yesterday was my birthday, and i found out my cousin got drawn fro the Deer archery Desert unit!, i was stoked, just because i was going to be able to go along, and scout, and glass,( and probably pack...lol..). So today, i jumped on to check my results, and found out that i get to scout and pack with him, the 13th - the 20th, but come the 20th of Nov.- through dec 8th, but then, ill be going to attempt to fill my tag, i got drawn for the Archery Quilomene!
Best present i could have asked for.!! anyone, have this tag? results? info?
How about you guys, any deer tag drawing results?... good luck to all this fall.!

Thank you, It was my number 1 pick and his number 1 pick. I know 3 people who drew quilomene rifle permits.lol... but this next weekend we are going camping/ scouting in the desert, and quilomene units. We have found a couple friends who have hunted it before, and have gotten maps now from the WDFW. so we will scout it out the rest of the summer, and wait, i guess.

Hello to all! I'm Mike and this is my first time on this site. Lots of good stuff. Congrats to all who drew tags. I drew a Blue mt. foothills B deer tag nov.3-19. I am looking for any info that anybody might be willing to share. Not looking for any honey holes but starting points and what to expect would be a huge help. I live in western washington and plan to get over to scout at least once or twice. Willing to help someone on the westside if I can be of help or maybe take out fishing the columbia or mouth of the cowlitz river in trade. Thanks guys and good luck with your hunts. Mike

Kelso..............I got drawn for Blue Mtn. Foothill A. I have hunted it several times over the years. Foothills B is every bit as good as A. Rut usually showing good activity around the 10th-12th with smaller bucks chasing and itensifies from that point till the end of the permit season. Of course this varies somewhat due to weather.
Second biggest whitetail I have ever had an opportunity to harvest was on the 8th. Caught him tending a doe and watched him for over an hour at 100 yrs. Passed on him as it was my first day....wanted to hunt for a least a week. Passed on two more the next three days before taking a decent four point toward the end of the season. All three I passed on were much larger...with that first one in the mid 170-180 range. Even though I passed on bigger deer, that hunt remains one of my favorites. Usually though the later the better for the larger bucks.
Key to this season is to pass on bucks if you want an opportunity at a really good one...150+ class.....unless you're a *censored* like me.....lol.

I drew the Teanaway A late rifle hunt. My brother and I put in together and broke the dry spell of 6 straight years without being drawn. We're pretty stoked and keeping my finger off of the trigger in early October will be tough.

This is my 4th or 5th year in a row drawing a B tag for a second deer. It nice putting a little extra meat in the freezer. Plus it makes it ok with my wife if I hold out for a big stinky buck.

Wacenturion, Thanks for the reply and sending me to the other thread. I also had the blue mt. A tag a few years ago but misjudged and got didn't have much time and all kinds of other excuses but the bottom line was I killed a small 4x4 the first day and regretted it and still do. I was hunting on some private land (e-mail and I'll give you a heads up). I am hunting the middle fork of the salmon river this year for deer and elk and didn't plan on drawing this B tag but I am going to make time and hunt the last week. I will be going over to scout at least twice before hand though. I don't really know what I'm looking for as far as whitetails for this area but I will be holding out for something nice and am willing to eat my tag if it doesn't happen. If you or anyone else on this site is going to be in that area the last week, maybe we can share a few hunting lies! Is a 140 class whitetail something doable in this unit? anyways thanks again and good luck. Again E-Mail and I can let you know where I found some private land in the A-units. I couldn't really tell you how good it was because of lack of time spent, but a good amount of land that only allows walk-in.
