Stupid Trophy cam!
« on: January 08, 2012, 07:58:41 PM »
I have 2 trophy cams 2 tascos and one 35mm.  The first trophy cam works great. This is the 2nd winter and its still working well. The Tascos. I dont expect much from, but they are doing fine also.  The other trophy cam is the 8 pix and it sucks!
I figured it was operator error, but it's not. I put the energizer lithium batteries in it 2 weeks ago had a couple pics of me after it was setup and noyhing else. When I walked up to it today it didnt take any pics. When I opened it up the batteries were totally dead.
All the cameras soaked the same amount of time, and battery life was good.

Any one else have this problem?

Oh yea the 35mm I bought at walmart for $60 in 2006 and it still works great.

Never had a problem with my 8 mp.  I have only had it for a year and it seems to be doing great.  It has taken over 8000 pictures on regular copper top batteries and still shows max battery life.

I did hear they had problems with the 2010 model????

I hear Bushnell has good customer service, and the cameras have a two year warranty. So if the 2 year warranty isn't up I'd be calling them and you will probably end up with a brand new camera to replace the bad one.

This is crazy because I was going to start this exact thread with my 8 pix trophy cam, the one with the lcd screen.  I've only been doing one week soaks, the first time I put it out on (not very) old batteries and came back a week later and just had set up pics and the batteries were dead.  So I put 8 off brand batteries my brother had and four energizers I had (all new) in it and another week later exact same thing.  So now I'm confused, thought ok its a coincidence, first time old batteries, second time crappy but new batteries, so then i go buy 12 brand new energizers and put them in last weekend, then checked it this Saturday and the exact same thing nothing but set up pics on the first day and all batteries are dead. Soooo this Saturday night I went and bought 12 Ultra lithium batteries and put them in it, and bought a Tasko cam.  I hiked in today and set up the Tasko but decided screw the bushnell and brought back it home and was going to start this thread.  Obviously I'm having the exact same problem.  Oh and there was tons of tracks in the snow going right by my cam but no pics, I payed a pile for it and now wish I bought 5 Taskos instead.
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

Lets try to do it next Sunday Jake. I should get my new camera in the mail by then. I ordered a flash camera called the "reveal."

I have the same problem. Bought the cam and put crappy batteries and it work well for week and a half, 1760 pictures. So we tried brand new copper head batteries and it was out for a week and got only 62 pics and flat batteries again. it is the trophy cam with the screen,

The owners manual say it might be a problem with the SD card, can this be the problem?
