New pistols give me a chubby.   :P

It would be a good idea as a new pistol owner to find a good instructor and take a defensive pistol course. It will start you off right and will make shooting more useful than just throwing rounds downrange. Even a one day course will make a big difference.

Don't be discouraged if you find out you can't shoot like John Wayne or anyone else in the movies. Nobody can. It's much more difficult than a rifle, but that's more reason to practice!  Enjoy your new weapon.
Our defense is in the preservation of the spirit which prizes liberty as the heritage of all men, in all lands, every where. Destroy this spirit, and you have planted the seeds of despotism around your own doors.

Very nice selection! You will like it! Hard to beat the 1911! I am sure Ruger makes a great one! I like the pancake style leather holster with the thumb break. I dont mind carrying cocked and locked, but the strap between the hammer and the firing pin gives me a little psychological peace of mind when its on my hip.

thats a good looking piece. What was the cost on it? I currently have the Rugar SR9c and love it, but want something a little bigger (.45)

After tax - $700 at Wholesale Sports in Silverdale.

But you'll have to wait about 5 months for it.  Put your name on a waiting list. It's worth the wait.

Thanks for the advice.

I can't believe what my wife said yesterday... cool pistol.  Then those words I never imagined I'd hear... "I'd kinda like one too."

Holy crap! What???

So, now it's on my list to get her an LCP and both of us take a course together.

If I could have gotten my hands on the Ruger I would have bought it.

What do you think? Have you enjoyed having it?

have only shot 1/2 box of shells thru it, too early to tell but so far I like it. have to buy some empty cases and start reloading for it, I don't like paying that much for ammo.

Yeah, wish I had the ability to reload. I simply don't have the space or equipment. Maybe one day.
