Tonight on Sons of GUns they built an AR in ....458 something or other... that was a bad ass mochine....

That 500 Jeffries is an old caliber isn't it?

It was a 458 socom  I plan to build one of those sooner then later as well. Cool caliber I know a few guys that have shot elk and bears with them. Great shorter range caliber with some great knock down

Hammer I love seeing those 450rds  Still not as sexy as a 750g amax in a 50 cal, but a close 2nd

I didn't watch it, but the commercial made is sound like they were building a gun thats never been thought of before, the .458s have been around for a few years, cool gun, but not all the special to me, at least not that thye built one.
I would rather be a conservative nut job, than a liberal with no nuts, and no job!

The 750 A-Max is sexy as long as it's parked in something sexy, like a McMillan or such. The ghetto Armalite just doesn't cut it. :o

I agree with you to Alec. I figured it would be something really cool. They just went a built a normal 458 socom and then slid a silencer on. The best part was they put a FLIR scope on it  I have wanted one for years!!!! Man they are sweet! cant beat them for yote hunting or hog hunting, but dang the price of them :bash:

I would love one too, but I don't think I can justify the price, expecially since I wouldn't use it for anything other than showing off to my friends

Hey there Polar Bear, ever have shoulder surgery? Well when you do we'll see how that maxi-pad works for you.  :chuckle:

I need to do something with my kids' 20ga

Its really lightweight composite stock so it has a sharp kick when you shoot it, even for me it's got a pretty good snap to the kick - turns kids off pretty quickly

I was going to just pour in lead shot in the but of the stock and some kind of goop that gives a bit, some silicone gunk

If your gun kicks too much, maybe a maxi pad would be more appropriate.  :chuckle:

Or you could take up archery and use your tampon string to lift your bow up in to your stand. :chuckle:
