HOW?? :chuckle: PICS!!!!

I didn't take pics...when my dog was just a pup I sent her into a brushy hellhole and suddenly I hear this argument between two dogs! Out squirts a coyote and cali is hot on its heels. The coyote was about 15 yards ahead and I dumped a load of 7 1/2's into it.....rolled it. Cali and the coyote had a 10 second scrap and there she was trying to bring me a dead coyote bigger than she was. I don't think she killed it, it was the gun....most excitement in a long time.

:chuckle: Thats awesome! Good dog - I'd love to have seen that! Although I bet at the time you werent really enjoying it very much until it was over!

I went to walmart, and got some more shot, the only shot they had besides Lead target shot was 00 buck shot.  That should fold them no probs   I plan on stocking up on turkey load once it hits the shelves.

Like bags of shot for reloading? Or pre-made cartridges? I didnt know they sold shot at Walmart, I'll be going down there to get some if they do and its a good price!

I use 3" #4 buck in imp mod choke, I have used IC too but I never shoot them at very long range. I am curious how far out I could shoot them....  :dunno: but I like to get them in a close as I can. Thought about buying of the pattermaster long range chokes but I dont want to spend the money...

I meant boxed ammo, in range will be no problem.  I have some sure fire ways to get them in close ;)  I have done a LOT of door knocking and just found a guy that lost his ankle biter to a yote.  He told me I could shoot all night long, and he doesnt care what his neighbors think..

Cool, what lights are you using?  I have a smart light headlamp that burns on high for nearly14 hours and a 250 kill light on my rifle/shotgun.  I think I am going to get the 100 kill light for my shotgun and just keep the 250 mounted on the rifle.

The outside lights of the home and garage.  The home borders the woods where all the probs come from.

I just bought 3" #4 buck for my 835. Will it shoot good patterns through a tight turkey choke? Are coyote chokes open or tight?

That turkey choke is probably too tight for buckshot. Might even damage your choke tube. I would try a improved cylinder and a modified choke and see which patterns best. You could also try a standard full choke but in my experience buckshot patterns better out of a more open choke.

Something i want to try with my next pour is to buffer the buckshot with con cob. form people i've talked to if you tamp corn cob in with each layer of buck shot it keeps the pellets from rolling and keeps them together longer.  I would bet that ) buckshot buffered or #4 would keep pretty tight with whater choke you use for duck hunting.  :twocents:

Most the time I run 4-buck backed up by oobuck. I have killed them all the way down to #4 shot. I have shot many yotes with a scatter gun and that is one of my favorite ways to shoot them. You know you got them close when you can shoot them with a shotgun  My gun shoots very well to 50yards with the choke I use.
