drop away or whisker biscuit?

Have had both before, new bow has a whisker biscuit. Leaning towards buying a drop away just want everyone's opinion.

My vote is WB, it is simple and it works (for hunting). If I was target/3D I might go drop away.

I have used w/b for many years and it works great. I am switching to a rip cord this season. They look like they work awesome. Some of my buddy's have them and love them.

You're right, for hunting you cant ask for much better, you can shoot at all angles and your arrow will never fall off.

Drop away for me. I like the looks of the new Trophy Ridge.  You get both worlds, capture and drop.

I had a WB  for 2 years and never achieved the accuracy & consistency I was looking for.  I put the Trophy Taker drop away on  and was way out shooting even my best day with the Whisker my first shooting session after paper tuning.  With the Trophy Taker full containment your arrow is always on the rest & the whale tail always picks it up & is ready to go at full draw.  Drop away for sure, I have not tried a bunch but am very happy with this one.   Mike

I like the idea of a drop away rest and I was thinking about changing from a WB to a drop away, but then I thought to myself, I dont have problems with it, the arrow never falls out during a stalk or drawing the bow, My accuracy is not effected by it so why switch?

Have shot with both and this is what I found out....

1.  People talk about the whisker biscuit slowing down your arrow.  I chrono'd both and the wisker biscuit slowed my arrow down 3-4 fps....negligable at best.
2.  I shot a whisker buscuit for 2 years and I shoot year around, it takes a ton (300+ estimate) shots per arrow before I saw any fletching wear.  I shoot blazer veins.  I never replaced my whisker buscuit and had literally thousands of shots through it.  They last forever. 
3.  The wisker buscuit does hold your arrow, but I found whilel stalking in dense cover my arrow would get mashed in the whiskers, so I sitll had to check and adjust prior to the shot.
4.  I found the whisker buscuit to be a little loud when drawing. 
5.  I switched back to a Rip Cord drop away rest this last year and Love it.  It is quite and seems to work really well.

My synopsis is both worked really well, but for some reason I found myself with a drop away.  I would have no problem shooting either.  The nice thing is whisker buscuits are really cheep so you should try both and see what works best for you.

I have had a Ripcord on all my bows...I like them. I did have a whisker biscuit and hated it

Trophy taker for me Have hunted with a biscuit before and it worked well. Still run them on a few bows and my wifes bow as well.

Had whisker biscuit, Trophy Taker Dropaway and NAP Quiktune Sizzor.  Whisker biscuit was great, but destroyed a lot of fletchings if I shot a lot.  Trophy taker, I think was set wrong and would drop away too quickly, so was impossible to tune.  Could have tried to fix it, but bought the Sizzor which makes adjustment of the timing easy.  I get the benefit of full containment, holding the arrow as long as I want it to, and yet have it release before the fletchings reach the rest, which makes it easy to tune.  My field tips are on the plate out to 80 yards and my broadheads out to 70 yards are on the plate 3/4 of the time.  I think the other 1/4 is poorer form rather than the bow tuning.

Started out with a whisker biscuit but ended up wanting to try a drop away and have had one since. I shoot a limb driver Pro v provides full containment and no worries about timing. Great rest.

I use a dropp away fater having a WB... Better acuracy. The other option is the OCTAINE rest or the NAP ??quick tune?? They hold the arrow with 3 brushes so ther is no fletching contact. My wifes bow has an Octaine...

Got to agree on the hunting vs 3d/target shooting tho.

drop away is my vote...but to be fair I have never shot with a whisker biscuit...just have always have great success with a drop away...no reason to try a WB

I tried a WB for a while...could never achieve perfect (or close to) bare shaft flight.  Drop away for me. Take a look at this picture. I took  an aluminum arrow shaft split it length wise and  glued it to the shelf of the riser. I covered it with tanned deer skin. The arrow sits in the "cradle" and you can turn the bow almost upside down without it falling out. The drop away lifts the arrow out of the cradle for the shot. Works great. I found this in an archery book......I take no credit for it.
