Too much pressure and the case expanded more than normal in the chamber. Was it factory ammo or a reload?
May be a mechanical problem if the bolt won't even rotate up, allot of times even with a over pressure issue you can rotate the bolt up, the issue is getting it back. In that case we have found it better to slide a steel rod slightly smaller than the bore down the barrel until it is against the back of the case and give it a stout whack. Some CLOWNS decide to beat on the bolt handle, this may work sometimes but in some cases they break their bolt handle off . I'm not familiar with the inner workings of the X-Bolt. Can the bolt be worked with the safety on? If not then it could be a mechanical failure in the trigger also, even though the safety is still in the "Fire" position.

Im still open to any other ideas. As I said, I will be taking it to a gunsmith to repair the problem, and will let you all know what the result is.
