Bobcat on the Farm
« on: January 11, 2012, 11:03:55 PM »
This is my first time putting up a trail cam.
The story started 2 weeks ago. A friend of mine had lost a few fowl from their coop. They lost one every other night for a week. I suspected one of the following: Coyote, bobcat, raccoon or mink. So I contacted H20hunter to ask if he had a trail cam I could borrow since I don't own one; YET. As luck would have it he had just retieved his the night before.
The first night I had the camera too high(4'), no good pics.
I moved the cam to about 2' above ground level. Nothing except normal farm animals the next 2 nights.
I decided to not check it for a few days thinking the animal was catching my scent. I went and checked it tonight.
As you can see he finally showed himself  :)
We had found feathers were he dragged the birds over the fence. He went over the 7' fence in the back ground. he even left a single paw print in the muck and muddy smears on the fence post.
Now I get to try and pattern him.
Hope you enjoy the pics

Looks like a nice Tom! Find someone with a trapping license and get that guy.

Thought about that except this is less than 100yds from the house and there are dogs, cats, etc running around.   :dunno:    95% of the pics were of those and rabbits.

Once the chickens are gone the rabbits will start to get thinned a bit.

Cool pictures of a nice looking cat. I think I'll get one of those trail cams and stake out a few areas I've been curious about....

You wont pattern a bobcat, there are too many factors that determine where or what hes doing in his day...get a trapping license and have fun
