When they gonna start dropping?
« on: January 14, 2012, 09:05:47 PM »
Saw a moose and two whitetail bucks who still had both sides on today. Anyone finding fresh sheds? Thought the moose would have shed awhile ago :dunno:

Look at all the new threads, moose and whitetail are dropping.
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

Yes i have seen some of the new threads and i think the late rut in my areas has kept the antlers on for the most part. I was up at one spot today and saw pretty fresh tree rubs all over (two weeks or less).

Went into Idaho yesterday to shed hunt, ended up spending all day getting my truck unstuck so I didn't find any, but I talked to some people who found a couple paddles.  Heading back next weekend to look some more.

Most deer won't drop until almost June so you would be better off staying out of the woods until then.   ;)

A kid in one of my classes came in Friday with pics of a couple of fresh browns.  Whitetail.
