I was looking at this pic a little more. I know with birds you try to get focus on the eye. Never really thought about big game focus. I notice this seems to be focused on the bush just behind him.  Is it cropped? because he looks centered. What focus point do you use on the 40D, or do you vary it by composition?
Me...... I'm just so dang excited to pull the trigger I never know what I'm gonna get. And with the 7D's 8 frames per second, well????????? I usually use the center focus point, but sometimes (if I have time and can remember) I will move it to fit the composition.

I don't think I cropped that one.  He was close.   he was moving and I was too.   I usually try to get the eye.  Sometimes an antler base.  It was almost dark on the pic.
