in jefferson county, it would almost be worth it to try. something about the law being unclear.

go for it. there still going to bust you. you will have to pay for the value of your gun to get it back. the eight people that got busted paid dearlly. i was across the river when they got caught. have fun in court. you have to go to belfair or something like it. you will spend plenty of money to see if it is legal or not. there from olympia. yes they beat it but you dont get all the money you lost back. the game warden that doe's they area said he will bust you for bait or scent. i guided matheny from 93-97 baiting, got 42 bear's hunting weekend's during august. i miss it very much. it isnt worth the stress.  that is were i got my name bearmanric.  bear baiting will never come back. the game department said so. the old conivore guy. said department didnt want to deal with it. all the study's and stuff they would have to do. a bear plan. like a wolf plan. they dont have the money. Actually in Jefferson County the prosecutor stated they would no longer pursue charges against anyone caught bear baiting, so you wouldn't need a lawyer, because it will never make it to court.  They can arrest you as many times as they want to, but if it never goes to court then it wouldn't cost you a dime.  Now I'm not advocating you doing this, but this was what the prosecurtor stated in court and in the papers.

the game warden said. he would bust you. they take your gun. it will cost you money. that is for scent only. the 8 people that got busted in the sting. three were in treestand's on bait. the rest had blue berry scent on there feet. the judge through out the scent. the game warden is not a very nice guy. i wouldnt want to test him.  you could try it. to me it is not worth the problem's. get away from that game warden. talk to other's they might see it different. the first bust was in toledo. they were sappose to through it out there to.
