muzzleloader elk season?

So my name is coming up on the vacation calendar and early archery season is all booked up this year (national guard guy had to take the last three weeks of september for training this year :bash:) I am trying to figure out if muzzy elk is gonna start on saturday Sept. 29th, or saturday Oct. 6th?  Conventional wisdom points to october 6th due to rifle rut hunts running up to the 30th of september but we all know that wisdom and wdfw are not to things commonly found in a sentence together.  Anybody have any pearls of knowledge for me?  Thanks in advance!

east side or west side?  I think early muzzy elk on westside would more than likely be the Oct 6th guess.  They usually have an early muzzy deer season that has to run the week before, and follows the end of the high hunt by the weekend.

I'd say it would have to be October 6th. As Jimmy says, they have to squeeze the early muzzleloader deer in there before the elk season starts. This year it was October 1st and that is the earliest it will ever be.

sorry forgot to mention eastside.  Early muzzy deer always overlaps the second weekend with the opening weekend of early elk.  I think you guys are right though the 6th is probably the day.

East and west is the same. Yes it has to be October 6th unless they totally revamp the hunting seasons this year. Which they can't because of the budget problems. They're supposedly leaving most everything the same.

Well I lied. Just got done with a training meeting. Looks like I will be hunting with a smoke pole for elk.  So instead looks like Im gonna draw a bull permit and kill myself a 350" 6x6 :tup:

I don't think you have the points to draw a Blues tag so you might want to lower your expectations ;)

Muzzleloader elk is always the first saturday in October, always.
