Head down to the Oak Creek feeding station with everyone else on the 1st of May! Just make sure ya bring your tennis shoes. :chuckle:
Are you for real?  Is that an actual start for a May first opener over there, or a photo of something else you thought would be funny?  If thats real, that's nuts!  Lol

:chuckle: I was wondering the same thing. I agree Bone....

 :yeah:

Does the state pick them up prior to the opener?  Where do all the sheds they sell come from?

Yeah if thats how it is then that is retarded, what is the fun in that?  Those guys can have that mess, ill stick to my solitude hunting the reprod and timber hillsides all alone and never seeing a soul and finding a shed a day on average.
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

It's for real.  The picture is from Montana but I am sure that it is very similiar at Oak Creek. Here is a link.

I cruised by there last year and it was a mad house.  The parking lot was screaming overcrowded and looked like it was hurting for some relief. :chuckle:

is there any law about getting sheds before mar. 15 on public land?  the reason i am asking is cause the critical time in a deer and elks life is late winter and early spring.  the shed hunters are in the field at that time disturbing the animals when they are trying to make it thru the winter. this winter has been nice but the last 2 have been tough real tough.  this is something that needs to be looked at with decreasing habitat and more people population .  mike w
That's what we need is another excuse for the WDFW to shut down my land or time that we can be out there.  Why don't we suggest a shed hunting license for them to gouge us with. :bdid:

I think the way the system is now is as good as its gonna get. Put restrictions on the feed stations and major wintering grounds only. If a guy wants to hike around the hills looking for sheds then great. Just dont go bombing around on quads and getting close to the animals. The majority of shed hunters dont take it too seriously and have respect for the animals. For me its a way to shake off some cabin fever and get some exercise.
