Cool story PT
Spike blacktail...Grandpa always like to sit up on log landings and fix lunch....he'd say, "you never know what you'll see"...so we pulled up in the bronco, parked at the landing. He got the stove out and began cooking up some dinty moore stew. I went up ontop a log pile with grandpas shotgun and looked over...to see a mighty black tail spike!I took aim and fired! Grandpa about jumped out of his skin, since his back was turned and he wasnt expecting a shot! The shot knocked over the buck and I fired again as he rose, ...off he ran! Fired again and grandpa yelled to stop shooting! We found the spike about 50 yards into the cut....grandpa walked up and took a shot in the leg from the bucks final kick.Hit it with two buck shot...one in the heart, one in the lungs. He was with me on my first deer, I was with him on his last deer.RIP Grandpa!
