And it has begun!
« on: January 30, 2012, 09:18:09 AM »
Finally purchased my bow this weekend from The Nock Point.  Went with the Martin Bengal, and couldn't be happier.  Worked with Mike a bit as he set me up.  I have been very pleased with everyone at NP, as they have been awesome in getting me organized.

Now on to shooting....a lot.  September will be here before you know it!]

Good to see people supporting Martin. Looks like a nice bow. I've got a Martin Pantera.

Congratulations on a nice bow. You bought the Martin because of the poster with Laura Francese on it, didn't you?

It will only serve to reduce individual rights and the very security of our republic." - Pianoman https://linktr.ee/johnlwallace https://valoaneducator.tv/johnwallace-2014743

You know what's funny, as I was handed the Warranty booklet I was told "yeah, Laura doesn't come with the package...she is smokin' hot!"  Thought that was funny.

I bought Martin mainly because they are local, and I have heard many positives about their customer service.  I loved shooting the Hoyt, but couldn't mentally justify dumping that much more $$$ for my first bow.  The Martin felt great, and I think will do everything I need it to do as my first....

Just picked up my elk calls as well....I have a lot of practice to do on both fronts....

The Guys at NP are the best! They have gone above and beyond for me time and time again..

For your first, you got the right bow. I bought Firecat a few years ago and it is still awesome.. love it.

I did upgrade to a Hoyt though.. after a while you will start to see the difference, biggest difference IMO is the quality and durrability. My Firecat busted a limb and it got me in the market of considering a new bow.. one of the big two.. Mathews or Hoyt and I am glad I went with the Hoyt.

Congrats, you should really enjoy that bow. Martin's are the BEST bang for the buck as far as I am concerned

You know what is funny.  We all enjoy watching hunting shows, but anytime archery was the focus, I was kindof bored.  Now, I am very interested.

I still get my rifle season with my dad, but archery will be spent with both of my brothers.  Talk about the best of both worlds!  I am so motivated to learn about archery right now.  I wonder if people on the street can hear me with my calls in my truck  :chuckle:  Lot's of practice across the board for me.  Whole lot more invovled opposed to rifle hunting.

You can apply for multi season tags as well. That way you can hunt both seasons if you don't get a deer in the early archery season. Then if you don't get one during modern you can hunt late archery.

Thanks for the tip....I specifically hunt elk for the time being.  It's that quest I feel I have to conquer before branching out.  Hunt the general rifle season in Idaho, but my archery will be done here in Washington.  I have never been through the application process, so I think I am studying the regs harder than I did any text book in college!

Have a lot to learn....
