One Big Bobcat!!
« on: January 30, 2012, 02:23:25 PM »
Just had put out some Duke #2 coil traps along with some Beaver as bait with powder river cat call as lure. Some feather's to add to the set also. I had this Big Boy walk right in front of my set. Just
too far left by a cat hair. He never went for the bait. I think the feathers was what he was looking at. I had my reconyx trail cam on this set and got a few pic's. Does anyone have a good idea or diffrent ways to pull the cats in? Lures-Bait-Ect..

Did you have your bait in a cubby set?  That would be perfect set up for him.  Cats love cubby sets.

I had a half way cubby set. Mostly to cover my trap from the weather. How tall and long of a cubby hole do you think will work best?

I like to make mine three feet long, 14 inches or so wide and about 18 inches tall.  I would do a nice cubby, set your trap in the entrance, beaver meat in the back, some subtle guide sticks at the front and you will catch him, he will come back.

Sounds great thanks for the good info. I'll do that tomorow. I have three sets in that area all in a mile or less. Maybe i'll get
lucky. I will post a pic of one of the sets for you to check out.

When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.
