Having problem with not having enough room in the case for the powder with the Barnes TTSX bullets with them being all copper bullets their longer to get up to weight and was wondering how the short cut lays in the case compared to regular long cut 4831.

As long as it's not major "crush", I wouldn't worry about it.  If the lack of air space around the granules worries you, don't let it--powders carry their own oxygen for burning.  The big advantage to the short cut powders is that they meter better in the powder measures.

I have that problem when loading that power as well. I love 4831 and 4831sc and load it in most my guns from 25 and up.

You could try the 4831SSC. they make the super short cut. I always try to get it when available

You can get more in,in my gun i can go over max with it,what case are you trying to fill.

Well Im right to the point of being afraid of blowing out a shoulder on the case. I know that the less space the better. I have friend who has 2 or 3 pounds of the short cut and we were just going to trade if I can more in the case. Just trying to save some cash before buying a different powder. Thanks for your input guys.

You big bore guys got it made--try loading IMR 4198 in a .22 hornet case.  Or a .17 fireball.  Good news:  It's the powder that gives the best accuracy in small calibers.  Bad news: The long grains make metering small charges a PITA!

It might help if you could tell us what the cartridge is.

Hahaha! Try seating a .458 CEB 370gr Non Con on top of a 106grs of Win 748 in a Ultra Mag case. Doesn't matter how hard you crank on that handle they want to pop back up. Gives a guy a serious complex for the first round at the bench, it just doesn't feel right.

I have gone to r-17 in my 338win mag works better t5han 4350,i save the 4831sc for the 338Rum.
