Go old school,  A Colt Woodsman.  Absolutely a dream to shoot!!
There's a reason they call it hunting, not killing.

Ruger 22/44 mk3. About 2,000 rounds down the tube and the only issue was with Federal Automatch, would not cycle reliably, other sub sonic cycled fine. All the guts have been replaced with VQ parts (want not need).

Never, ever let Creed hold you baby, it will ruin it and you will have to get another.

okay, I see we need a pic of a single six. This single six still works like the day I bought it. I can't say to much for the rest. That gun slinger hostler as shrunk. Hatchet sheath is all worn out. Back pack is out dated. But the single six is still like new.  :chuckle:

times before with just leather, wool and cotton.

I think we have concluded that Ruger makes damn fine 22lr firearms, as does browning.

Ruger mkII, but that mk3 looks pretty awesome. The browning buckmarks are great guns as well, just a personal preference between the two I think, I like both Ruger and Browning about the same, I just happened to inherit the mkII from my grandpa

I have a ruger mark III hunter and it is really fun to shoot......I love it!  I am not the best shot but I can definitely shoot a lot better with that one than any other gun I own....

Yeahhh, I'd also have to say it's pretty tough to beat a Ruger MkII.  I've had 2 of them and been around many more and they just flat work and work well!!!

There are certainly cooler looking 22 pistols out there but I dare you to find one that is any better than the MkII

Sounds like for target/range work either the Ruger MK or Buckmark would be the ticket?

I have an older Ruger Single Six that has been retrofitted.

I Have a Ruger Single Six Convertible .22 Mag/.22 whatever. It has a 9 Inch barrel and can almost be compared to a rifle. This gun was made in 1959 and is in mint condition. I came by the piece from a friend in the Army. It was left to him by his Grandfather, along with all the components shown in the below picture. The holster is of Calvary vintage and includes the pure Brass cleaning rod shown. His wife was an anti gun nut and demanded he get the gun out of thier house. So he sold it to me for $50.00. Not a bad deal I would say. That was 28 years ago. I have only shot about 1 box of mags and 2 boxes of Long Rifle through it. Enjoy the picture. Muskrat
