Joe Watt Feed Station
« on: February 01, 2012, 02:54:55 PM »
I was up there really quick Monday before the sun went down before heading to Seattle and I noticed what looked to be some cougar tracks, I got a picture of it next to a pair of benelli binos but forgot the camera at home so won't be able to post til tomorrow :sry:  But has anybody been up there within the last couple of days and seen the same thing? :dunno:

Seen a nice 6 point bull up there but that was it.  Lots of cows

Mid December saw a big cougar down where the cattle guard is further up the Taneum Creek Road.  It was in an open field mid day.  Of course it was on Private Property, and bordered by the Bureau of Reclamation land with NO TRESPASSING signs every 100 ft.  It was not scared, and did not even leave.  It sat down and watched us watching him from the road.  I took pics, but they are really really bad.  You can tell it is a cat, that is about it.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

I followed the tracks along the fence line til it got near the gate to enter the feed area and they stopped so I'm assuming he jumped over heading for a meal? :dunno:

I am thinking the same.  Every time I have been there, a few cows keep watching the creek line with all the brush.  Heads up, ears forward, stomping a foot, like something is bothering them.  Wonder if that cat is not hanging out down in there.

Pretty sure there is a cat working the sheep feeding station.   I was secretly hoping they'd open up the tribe trap and find him in there.    Here kitty kitty........     That might be fun to video. :chuckle:

I think that area gets a lot of cats moving around this time of year.

Don't think the cat has done near the damage on those bull elk as some groups of people have!!!  Maybe it was the cats' ceased lands!!! Its the cats right to hunt them, Right!!!  ;)

Probably not but since I was just asking about cougars in the area thanks for the useless information.  And if you don't mind me asking what's "ceased lands"? :dunno:  Cats gotta eat to right?
