Most on here will tell you that they will all be o.k., but it is the accessibility of lenses that is the issue you face.  Most folks on here gravitate to the Canon's because the quality lenses are more readily available on the used marketplace.  I researched a great deal over the last few years, but haven't actually made a purchase yet.

My only input is do not buy Sony!!!!  My broke after 8 months and Sony refused to do a warranty repair stating they only pay for factory defects.  They told me some unknown corrosive agent damage microcircuts.  BS.  I was furious as I spent $850.00 My other advice purchase the most comprehensive and longest term extended warranty you can afford.

Pentax has been around forever, and is certainly not a bad choice.  It is just that the other two brands almost dominate the market, and really increase your chance of using older and/or aftermarket lenses and accessories.

But Pentax is a good brand which makes superior products

If you want to use new glass, buy Canon.  If you want to use new and old glass, buy Nikon.  The reason I gravitated toward Nikon was the ability to use the older lenses, and now with My D7000 it will even meter with those older lenses. Canon or Nikon or the only two choices in my book for a quality dSLR.  Just my opinion though.
