Idaho Pan handle Sheds
« on: February 02, 2012, 11:08:26 PM »
We were hunting this year up in the ID pan handle my cousin and I. We visited a friend of a friend's shed antler collection. We walked out to this old grain silo tha sored his sheds form his place. He  had a pile of deer sheds about 4 ft high 6ft wide, and elk sheds hangin all over.  After I started drooling over the matched set of deer sheds he offerd them to me, and the same with my cousin and the elk sheds... here are some basic measurements, and pics. I ordered skull kits from Van Dykes and mounted them up. Didn't go too bad but took a little work to make them look right.
Elk main beam 48" Base 9.5" 6 points  1st points 13& 14 in
Deer base 5" Main beams 19 & 20   8x11point couple of points are just shy of an inch by one eighth. On the short side there are 3 points that were either broken off

Very cool, they look good on the skull.
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

Cool looking sheds and mounts. Amazing while tail sheds, especially since they are matched!
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
