Get the .357 and get the best of both. You can practice with .38 special ammo which is less expensive and Hot load some Elmer Keith bullets and you can hunt with it to about 100 yards

You can use 40 S&W to practice with on the 10mm, cheaper than 38. If you reload 10mm you can match base 41 mag power, which is what the 10 should run anyway.
