Seasons
« on: February 09, 2012, 10:20:38 PM »
So, I hate to be the new guy asking, but how are the seasons laid out? I read that it was one general season, I thought. Anyways just trying to find out if each species has a different season? Thanks!

Used to be a bit of effort put into setting the seasons. The trappers Report of catch was the main tool to determine population trends. They tried to group certain furbearers together in seasons that are trapped in conjunction with one another  such as beaver and otter. Also  primeness was taken into consideration. Different animals reach the peak of primeness at different times.

Now that really is not the case. Trapping pressure is way down and damage complaints are up so they have just extended the seasons to the maximum length they can within the period of time they are saleable.
