A fawn distress or bawl will kill a lot of deer. They can't help but come check out whats going on "if they have not already been pressured".

That is the most persuasive part of it right there.... Pressure on on or not so much.... Depending on tag and area/time of year of course.....  Might as well throw weather in there.....

Was watching 'em hunt muleys last nite on one of the huntin channels. This guy was using some kind of a call and it was really getting the muelys spun up, I couldn't believe it!! Anyone ever see this done?

ive done it calling coyotes using a fawn distress works wonders. haha really pisses the does off thought i was gonna get trampled the one time. also a good way to get a bedded buck up for the shot.

These calls work great. I've read the book and watched the video, some interesting info. I've had pretty good luck using these calls through the years.

I read that 'Deer Talk' book a little while ago, shot a coyote a month back using the rock throwing method and got 4-5 mule deer up from it as well

We had Dan Martin of Martin Archery up at the Lodge a couple years ago.He and I made a stalk on a group of mulies that included a nice 4x4. Spooked them inadvertently and Dan whips out a little wood call and started blowing it. Everyone of those mulies came back uphill and downwind with in 25 yds. The nice buck stuck his head and part of his neck over the rise in the hill and Dan turned down the shot. Did not want to have him jump the string and not hit him right. . The call was one that Martin Archery sold years ago as a predator call. He sent me three in the mail....They work.
