http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Anti-Gun-Group-Boycotting-Starbucks-139304753.html

Another anti-gun group (National Gun Victims Action Council) is trying to stir up the Starbucks policy issue again. They want to force Starbucks to declare their business establishments as off-limits to firearms. This came up about a year ago and back then Starbucks refused to bow to any restrictions stating that they were complying with the current gun laws of the jurisdiction where their businesses were located. This got some air time in Seattle when some open carry coffee drinkers showed up at some Starbucks shops.

Wisely, Starbucks refused to take the bait of getting drawn into the fight and decided to retain their current policy. I commend them for having the backbone to take this position and have increased my own purchase of Starbucks coffee and frequenting their shops. I really doubt a boycott will have any significant impact to Starbucks business and hope that they even see that their policy is supported by a large percentage of the population.

This story got air time on CNBC business channel this morning with the CEO of NGVAC ranting on for several minutes about why he wanted to push the boycott. Unfortunately, they did not offer any time to any gun rights advocate rebuttal.

I suggest flooding the NGVAC web site with your reason why you WILL  NOT be supporting a boycott. http://gunvictimsaction.org/starbucks-boycott/

The struggle never ends...

Their boycott was actually yesterday.  I showed up to buy a bunch of stuff while open carrying.  Check out all of the comments on Starbucks facebook page.  Boycott failed majorly, 2A supporters flooded their shops.

Curious why they are targeting StarBucks. Makes me want to go buy Starbucks coffee to show them my appreciation.

Their boycott was actually yesterday.

According to the CEO of the NGVAC who was interviewed on CNBC, the groups goal is to extend the boycott until Starbucks caves to their demand. He claimed the press got it wrong that it was only a one day event.

Talk is cheap. We will be hearing about some people yelping that they are going to stop buying Starbucks coffee. Can't see it happening to any great degree. To most people, it's just not that big of a deal. They will have to pry their coffee cup "from their cold, dead hands", like Mr. Heston used to say.

"I had previously stopped buying coffee at Starbucks because I only buy from the sluttiest bikini baristas on Highway 99.  But even if you hire Marissa Miller in a thong to personally stir my  stir stick, I still won't shop at Starbucks.  Let's face it, Howard Schultz is a piece of crap who sold the Sonic's out on us.  You guys can all *censored* off".

I luv my coffee.  Not a Bucks fan but, think I may have to go buy a cup just to thumb my nose at the incredibly righteous and ignorant.

I got a very polite response from Starbucks Cooperate. They simply stated their position is to follow local and State law where applicable and if this issue is importance contact your State Representatives and voice your position.

I'd not ask for more.

Those limp-wristed, gun grabbing fools would have to try this with each and every business in America if they weren't so stupid.  Little do they know that MOST businesses can and will obey the law to allow law-abiding citizens their right to bear arms in their establishments.

Even banks are starting to pre-empt the gun grabbers... this sign posted on the door of a bank last year by the Bank President. Can't recall which bank it was because it was so long ago, but I saved the pic because I loved it so much.

Business owners know full well that they, and their customers, are far safer with law abiding citizens carrying firearms in their establishments.
