« on: February 12, 2012, 06:45:12 PM »
just wondering why the poaching topics "native american" topics always get moved on this site.  the whole purpose for bringing it up is to inform the public ie. you and i on this subject. so why do they move em and lock em everytime. just wondering just a question. this is not intended to make anyone mad. just need answers. hopefully the moderators can help with some answers.

More times than not, poaching threads end up going down some nasty roads that are probably best not seen in the average visitors eye

I don't mind answering.

First of all, as soon as people start throwing prejudice/racial comments I am going to either delete or remove those type of comments or the whole topic if there are too many poor comments. I believe that tribal hunting and fishing is a very important issue, but if you want to talk about it on this forum it has to be in a respectable manner. So if you want to blame someone for topics disappearing, blame the people who can't talk tribal issues without throwing out racial comments. That goes for people on both sides of the issue, keep it respectable.

I wouldn't say they ALWAYS get moved. It just depends on the direction they end up going. Moving them is better than what might otherwise happen to them, which is to be deleted entirely. Sometimes it just gets to the point the moderators don't have the time to continually monitor a single thread. We have the "Speak Your Mind" board and the "Off Topics - Politics" board, both of which are opt in only boards. Which means of course that guests cannot view them, and neither can members who have not joined the group. This prevents everyone on the internet from just coming across some of these threads by just doing a Google search and having it pop up.

Poaching Topics, most do not get moved. We moved a couple topics to protect potential investigations.
