The more you do the better they will get. I think you did a nice job for your first attempt. I will echo what some have said and add a few more comments that might help you guys. Having done more then several promo videos and filming I know some of this stuff is easier said then done.

You will want to try to add some more pre roll to the videos some more just generic film. Can be just about anything it keeps people watching a lot better then someone sitting in a chair just talking. I like to try to have the hunters recap the hunt after they shoot the animal when they get up to it. Its a lot better with the emotions and feeling when they are there with there animals. Eye contact with the camera is very important as well. Looking off into the back ground instead of into the camera always makes the film look weird. As you guys go you will pick up on more stuff. Like zooming in for the shots. That is what everyone wants to watch more then anything. When he shot I could not even see the buck in the film. That is what everyone wants to see. Also the truck in the background in the film is something we try to avoid. I am sure you guys did not just jump out and shoot it. But with the truck right there some people might think it. Even though it did not happen that way.

I think you guys did a nice job and will only get better as you go.

Hope this help ya bud

I think your off to a great start! Those were 2 fine bucks... What units do you guide in?

Thanks. We are primarily in 215 and 233. But we also have some ground in 101.

Thanks Carpsniper2. Ya its tough looking into the camera. I didn't think it would be but man is it tough. I don't know if you can tell but I was pretty fidgety as well. I also agree with you on the truck in the background. Even if people don't think a guy was road hunting I think it takes away from the over all viewing experience.

I remember thinking the same thing. Oh this will be easy :chuckle: it is crazy the amount of strain it can cause just looking into the camera and talking. I can talk to anyone about anything hunting. The first few times I tried with a camera man I was at a loss of words :chuckle: Which never happens to me :chuckle: After many many hours in front of and behind a camera I started looking at it like this. My friends and family are the ones that are watching they could not be there with me at that time. So I want to share the emotions and talk to them like I would in person. You would not want to be talking to them and looking at there feet or just off in the distance it makes them feel disconnected from you. It will become 2nd nature after doing it for awhile. Most times if anyone is with me I ask: Are you on him? Half the time I get a yes because there is a camera and the other half the time I get a stupid look from someone like what do you mean :chuckle: When no camera is around. Also you will get the clients that you say wait for me to get on him and before you can even turn on the cam they are cracking a shot off at them :chuckle:
