Maybe the state pays him or he gets a tax break for giving you access to his property and needs your hunting license number to verify to them you were there.
Your number is used for verification that the land owners is allowing X number of people tonhunt the land. Over in Anotin we hunt a propertynthat is required to allow 40+ people and they collect your wild id #. Give it up so the land owner doesn't think your friend hunts with d'bags and doesn't get invited back. He should've collected it before allowing access.
