Wood duck boxes
« on: February 14, 2012, 06:42:19 PM »
Just wondering if you can put up Wood duck boxes out in public land where I hunt? I'd like to make a couple and put 'em up but don't want to get in trouble for it. Thanks for any feedback :).

Talk to your local chapter of Washington Waterfowl hunters.  They will likely help you.

Don't know about the membership.  Give them a call or email anyway.  They are a good organization that works hard for waterfowl and public access.

I don't think you should have any issues placing them on public lands.  As long as your not killing trees or cutting them down.  I have placed many wood duck boxes over the years on public and private lands.  If you decide to do, it make sure you get them placed this month or early next month.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

I am gonna try to get out and put some up the next weekend that isn't pooring down rain all day. Should I paint the houses or just leave the plain wood color on them?
