Rifle stock blanks-any good sources?
« on: February 15, 2012, 01:08:58 PM »
I am wrapping up work on a custom built wildcat rifle.  I want to put a nice high end walnut stock on it.

Does anyone have a good source for a company that sells rifle stock blanks?  I really want one that will rough cut it to my gun so all I need to so is the fitting and finishing work.

I would not recommend Boyd's after my 1 and only experience with them.  :twocents:

Thanks!

I have ordered a couple from them and am very pleased. I enjoy doing the work on my own as a hobby and these can be ordered to do as much or as little work as you want.

Here is the one I'm working on right now.

Nice, I like the alternative wood on the cap and grip.  that will look great when all stained up.
