P.S. Don't quote me, but I think you could get that set up in 300 WSM. That would be sweet.
Tikka T 3 lite stainless with a a Bushenell 4200 or Minox 3x9 scope.
I do want to go full mag, no shorts. i am currently shooting a mathews rezen 6.5 at 70lbs, that groups 5 shots in a softball size group at 80yards. My only big rifle is a 45-70 which is my bear gun, soon to change . I really appreciate the help, also where is the best deals when i do choose which caliber. Not to worried about cost of ammo(as 338 can be spendy), just want a nice gun. I was liking the thought of a 338 , if i can find one.New prefered, as you really know what your getting used.
IF your gonna shoot a magnum,Spend the money on a great scope to take full advantage of what these magnums are capable of. Word to the wise if you buy a magnum and put a cheap scope on it you will no longer have crosshairs in that scope after a few shots. You got 800.00 add another 800.00 and you will be set....I call them BANGIN STICKS!!!
The East Wenatchee Bi-Mart has a Remington 700 26" matte blue SPS/ADL synthetic in .300 Ultra Magnum with the 3-9x40 Scope package for $389.00. That's a smoking deal, leaves some cash left over to send in the direction of optics. It was still in the back room last week.

I agree that the .300 Win Mag is a fine round and is very fun to shoot. My problem is all of my rifles are too similar in ballistics, .30-06, 7MM Rem Mag and .300 Winny. I need to branch out on either end. What would your recommendation be for my next rifle caliber to purchase?
