Ruger mark II in 7mm mag, kinda hard to get good optics with only 200 bucks left. I did pick up a leupold 3x9-40 vxI for a little under 200 bucks at cabelas.

Where are you located?  There are lots of pawn shops that specialize in gun that may have something with a nice scope on it. That's how I got all mine.  Or check local gun trading forums like Spokaneguntrader.com.  You should have no problem finding a nice rifle and scope combo with 800

The caliber would depend on what you have already in your safe or if this will be your all around gun.  If you got a 270 or '06 step up to 338 mags so you have  a more versatile gun collection instead of a rifle that shoots a little faster and flatter than what you have.  My :twocents:

P.S.  Don't quote me, but I think you could get that set up in 300 WSM.     That would be sweet.

Well, I've never owned a Tika but I do like my browning A-bolt 300WSM.  I paid $500 for the rifle.

Tika T3 Lite 300WSM with a decent $300 BDC scope on it will get you out into the 600 range with great accuracy. Love mine!

I do want to go full mag, no shorts. i am currently shooting a mathews rezen 6.5 at 70lbs, that groups 5 shots in a softball size group at 80yards. My only big rifle is a 45-70 which is my bear gun, soon to change :chuckle:. I really appreciate the help, also where is the best deals when i do choose which caliber. Not to worried about cost of ammo(as 338 can be spendy), just want a nice gun. I was liking the thought of a 338 , if i can find one.
New prefered, as you really know what your getting used.

IF your gonna shoot a magnum,
Spend the money on a great scope to take full advantage of what these magnums are capable of. Word to the wise if you buy a magnum and put a cheap scope on it you will no longer have crosshairs in that scope after a few shots.

You got 800.00 add another 800.00 and you will be set....

If you wanna go 338 get a remington ultra mag.  I traded in my 338 win mag and am very satisfied.  You can get much better performace with larger bullets and it is a real step up from the 338 win mag.  Yes a win mag will kill, but you might as well get the fastest, flatest, hardest hitting magnum you can afford.  For most people the 338edge or lapua is out of our price range.  I picked up a 700 ultra mag and quality scope for 650 used. with those big guns, they aren't used a lot.  Find a reputable dealer and you will have no problems with a used gun.
