Bow Pricing
« on: February 11, 2012, 05:44:04 PM »
I am flirting with the idea of getting a new Hoyt this year, but in order to do so I would have to sell my Rytera Bullet x. I am curious what you bow experts think I can get for this bow. I would probably sell it the bow only and maybe throw in the sights and rest. I am just curious what you think I could get for it. Thank you guys and gals for the input!

Not sure, but which Hoyt are you thinking about?

Its hard to say bow prices drop big time once used.  Good luck selling it.

If I sold it with the whisker biscuit, the sights and told you that  I had a brand new winners choice string put on the bow last summer what do you think i could get for it?

your only going to get what the new owner is willing to pay. The above link and comment are good starting points though. I bought an 8y/o bow. I figured the accesories were what I bought and the bow was free.  :twocents:

Big question! What are the sights? If they are cheaper like 50.00 sights its not much of a factor if they are higher end that can be a deal maker for some guys. The biscuit aint worth much, most used gear when I sell bows I figure 1/3 of its original value. Its not worth much more then that until you get to the really high end sights.

I would guess around 300 would be the mark. If the sights are cheap maybe 250-275 if they are higher end 325-350

Ok the sights are nice but not considered high end sights. Does it make any difference that I paid $120 last summer to have a brand new winners choice string put on the bow?

Not really a big factor, you just made it shootable by replacing the string just like a tune up. I do a lot of picking and flipping more then 99% of the avg joes out there. I know how to make the money on finding good buys and turning around and getting rid of them. It's more or less just because I know what people will pay and and when I find a good deal I will grab it. I think your bow could sell at the 300 mark. If you ask more you will probably be sitting on it for awhile. If I was going to buy a bow like that I would want it at about 200.oo because I am not going to keep it. You will be asking what it is worth not a deal. Most peoplee look for deals and arnt into paying full value of what things are worth.

Ok great advice Carp. I think I will start it out around the $300 mark and go from there. Hopefully I can find a buyer. Its a great bow for $300 IMO. thank you for the advice!

Yeah I think you will do fine there. It sounds like a good bow. Like I said the value of a new string really does not add anything but it does show people they won't have another 100.00 investment for a new string anytime soon. So its a selling factor same as the gear thats on it. Good luck. If I did not buy my cousin a bow last year it would have been a good one for him.
