hey guys! Headin' out to Fish Lake with my family on Sunday. Going to try to get my 7 year old sister to catch her first fish through the ice. She is eager and wants to get some fish ice fishing. How big are the perch?

Hey Jordan when I was up there a few weeks ago they were all in the 6-8 inch range.

most of the perch were 7 to 10 inches with a few that were close to twelve.  If you have time you can throw the smaller ones back and catch the bigger ones   i have found a 1 inch kastmaster tiped with a worm doest the best for me just off the bottom.  If they stop biting move until you find a biting school.  Alsp i noticed that different schools tend to be different sizes.  If you dont like the size your catching move on.  Kind of hard to do when they are biting :chuckle:

My uncle uses the pimple he paints with glow.paint and charges it with a camera.flash. Tipped with worm. For night outings.

hey y'all went to our normal spots that we normally hammer 'em at on Sunday.. not a single bite. Sunny, warm, and REALLY windy.. I think the huge temperature switch from 30's to 50's in 1 day turned the fish.. ice was 18" think with 4" clear and 14" white.. there were puddles forming on top as the day went on and the surface got very soft and was slushy... don't know how long the ice will be good with how warm it is over here..

Just got done fileting 25 perch, and 5 trout.  Started out slow today, but then met a local guy that gave me some pointers and limited out in 3 hrs.
