Extensive 10x42 Bino Review and Ranking.
« on: February 19, 2012, 06:46:15 AM »
The rankings will surprise some people. The reviews of each bino are pretty extensive if you click on the "test" to the right of the bino. Interesting and informative read. And about as comprehensive as it gets.

They tested homo's, or homo's did the testing?

Interesting review canon. Lots of.emphasis on chromatic abbetation, dield of view, astigmatism, etc. not a lot of talk about color fidelity.

Proud to see my Nikon EDG at the top; I'm pretty happy to have snagged some.10x32s for $625 :IBCOOL:

FWIW, I personally owned leica, zeiss and swarovski.....I now own edg's. I am pretty pleased with them optically. Nothing beats leica for durability and armor. Swarovski is a nice bino but I never rubbed myself over them like some do.

My EDG 10x32s have the same FOV as the ZRS ED2 10x42. The Zen Rays were   notably heavier than another pair of 42mm objective binos when I tried them out. The quality gap in optics has definitely shrunk but you still get what you pay for.

All that being said, I found the optical quality of the Zen Ray glass to be outstanding for the price range they're in. if I needed another pair of binos in a pinch they would defintely be on the short list.I also greatly appreciate their site sponsorship here

I was really really surprised at how well the Bushnell Elites did on that test.

One thing to keep in mind is every product line has some studs and didst in the same model line. I always push elite scopes because I feel on a hunting rifle the price to value simply can't be beat.
