More bird work...
« on: February 19, 2012, 08:08:50 PM »
The weather broke nicely here in Billings (it actually hasn't been bad all winter)... and I took this little springer for a walk around the house here. I have about 400 acres of farm land that surround my neighboorhood...and I stroll around out there walking and shooting my bows quite a bit. In the past, I have only jumped a couple birds in many days of walking. Now, with this little bird freak I have, we jumped 3 rootys and 2 hens 2 days ago and 2 rootys and a hen today.... I am so pleased with how this little punk is working. It took him till he jumped his first one before he really started hunting hard... but then... it was unreal.... Just a fiend...

I'll try and get a pic or two up. Not bird flushing pics though!

you can't beat a springer, they are fantastic dogs. sounds like yours has it made with 400 acres of backyard complete with pheasants.
