bought a browning BPS today

I bought a 12 gauge browning BPS today at four corners in castle rock.  It was for sale on consignment the person who had it left it to his son in his estate. It is brand new never been shot still had packing grease in the barrel.  I payed 400 for it. Did I get a good deal.

Do you mean bps? If so then yes you got a great deal!

Yes it must be a BPS I am not a shotgun guy this is the first one i have ever owned. I borrowed one last year for turkey season now I have my own I hope its a good gun!

Should be a good deal.  They are closer to $500 + these days.  I have owned quite a few of them.  Great guns.  I had the .410, 20, 12 and 10 gauge in the BPS.  I have since sold them old and replaced them with auto loaders.

It depends on the model they range from about 500-600ish. I have the camo model and it has been a fantastic gun for me! I have shot a lot of birds and critters with me.

That is a good price. I have one in 10 gauge that i bought brand new. I did have a little problem with mine this year with it not firing. I called browning who referred me to a smith who said that it was dirty, i told him i cleaned it thoroughly, he said that i wasn't capable of cleaning it as well as a smith which was kinda rude. I finally took the trigger group out and looked at the seers inside and they looked too rough so i filed one spur down a tiny bit and now it is flawless.  I like the gun a lot which is good because misfires cost me a lot of ducks and geese and the gun would have been out in the swamp if i didnt like it to begin with.

That's a steal.  I have had one in 12 ga for 25 years I think.  I bought one of the youth models in 20 ga for my wife 20 years ago too.  My 12 has dumped a lot of turkeys and other small vermin.

You did well.  The one I have is my turkey and duck gun.  It was $350 in 1997 NIB.  I have shot a ton of ducks and geese and a few turkeys with mine.

Pay close attention to the chokes. 3 1/2 inch bps are invector+. 3" models are invector. They are different. If you ever want aftermarket chokes it saves a real headache. In my opinion Browning BPS are the best pump shotguns out there.

  i love mine! i wont turkey hunt with it though its too pretty i love how they eject from the bottom.
