called in a deer?
« on: March 01, 2012, 08:45:56 PM »
Went yote hunting this past sunday and finally got around to transfering the vid to youtube.  I went out and did 4 stands and all I called in was a pissed off horse and a doe.  I have the doe on video, and she seemed intent on finding my foxpro.  After a little while I decided to get rid of her and let out a challenge howl.   :chuckle:  Has any of the seasoned yote hunters ever called in a deer?  Is is a regular occurance?

Very regular. Deer are very curious animals when they are not the targeted species.
What would life be without the thrill of the hunt?

:chuckle: Maybe I should pretend to coyote hunt in the next deer season.   :IBCOOL:  Not sure how many times  I have called in deer, but that was the first to step out like that.  Im glad I remebered my camera that trip.  I will be back out again sometime this month and will use my decoy with the foxpro. :tup:

Happens a lot to me.  Even bucks come sometimes.  Just remember that if you use it to hunt deer you cant use electronic calls.

 I called this buck in while standing on the side of the road.  I was in full camo but was just standing there.  He charged to within 20 yards.

Crappy video but I was trying to call him back to see if he would charge again.  He was a little less interested the second time.

  Thats how I test my calls, if my two labs, and dachund react its a good call.  If the neighbors dogs go nuts then its a REALLY good call. :chuckle:  Im suprised my wife even lets me stay in the same house :chuckle: :chuckle:

Yep e callers are not legal for deer hunting.   Cool vids Kain, I need to take my camera out more often for any other ecnounters I may have with deer.  Hunting these semi urban yotes I have called in a ton of dogs and cats (all domestic) and I am going to start getting them on film as well :tup:

Yup, several times.  The rabbit distress call sounds a lot like a fawn bleat.  One time I was blowing a rabbit distress call and looked up on the hillside and a herd of Bighorn Sheep were standing there looking at me.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

Ive called in more deer than predators.  :chuckle: :bash:   For example:

list=UUxlh2YbIr5X3FxmY0fTtwPA&index=32&feature=plcp

Predator calling is like a box of chocolates....ya never know what you're gonna get. ;)
