Latest Bobcat Photos
« on: February 24, 2012, 08:15:10 PM »
Checked the cameras again today, like I do every week, got more bobcat pictures and videos. This time I had the Moultrie D40 instead of the Tasco. Only reason I switched them out was that the Tasco does not have an external battery jack. I've got the Moultrie hooked up to a deep cycle marine battery. It's for my electric trolling motor and has been sitting out in my shop for a few years now and never gets used. So I decided to use it to run one of my cameras. It's working great. The battery meter is still showing 99% and I'm guessing it will still be at that level three months from now.

Time's running out! Looks like he's getting more and more comfy there. Might be time to try and get him.

what kind of animal is the baitpile?

Mostly elk parts (leg bones, hides, head, meat scraps).

Had about a half dozen goose carcasses there once but they didn't last long.

I added another elk leg bone today and a 5 gallon bucket full of bear fat. Not sure how well that's going to work, but I'm all out of bait now.

That possum better not hang around to much or he'll become desert!

Well did you see there only 3 minutes before the bobcat showed up? It's been there a few other times as well. Yeah it would have been cool to have the bobcat grab it right in front of the camera!

Hurry up and get that guy Bobcat, pics are great as always.  Hey, if you run out of bait try asking a local butcher for scraps.  If you lived close to me I could get you all the cow and pig scraps you could ever want.  The butcher I know just dumps it all at the landfill, and I know it wouldn't hurt his feelings to give it away.
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

I've tried calling out there a couple times with no luck. We're going to try hunting at night at least once before the season is over. I'm not too concerned about it, I plan on getting set up better for night hunting and will put more time into it next year. I don't imagine that cat is going anywhere. (this is on private property)

Awesome photos bobcat!!!!
Lord , we've been here on days before
and often times you've let me score
Now do you think that on this day
you could send a gobbler down my way?
And , if not , just let me say--
you've given me another day
to hunt the bird I love the best.
I don't mind sharing with the rest

I think I may have posted these videos previously in another thread, but this is right after I put the infrared camera out there and set it to take video. The cat was really nervous about the big "red blob" on that camera, at first.
