best trail camera for your dollar

I've got two of those and they're great for $50, but I'm not sure I'd spend $93. However, you can get the W5X at the link I posted previously in this thread for $60. It's the same thing except black instead of camo and 5 mp instead of 6.

It's an IR, and not a bad deal since it comes with a SD card. But I'd still take the Wildview I posted for $60. I'm not sure what the difference is other than the $60 cam is camo.

Battery life is important to me. I saved lots of money when I switched from a cheap battery hungry cam to the bushnell trophy cam. I got just over a year on one set of batteries. Now that's true savings.  If you are putting it in a spot that has a good chance of being stolen go for the tasco cameras otherwise spend the extra chas on a higher quality cam.

Battery life is huge to me as well. Used to not be a big deal but then I bought a stealthcam delta 8 and learned my lesson

Battery life is important to me. I saved lots of money when I switched from a cheap battery hungry cam to the bushnell trophy cam. I got just over a year on one set of batteries. Now that's true savings.  If you are putting it in a spot that has a good chance of being stolen go for the tasco cameras otherwise spend the extra chas on a higher quality cam.

same for me! Love the life of bushnells makes up for the extra cost. as for getting stolen mine are on private or 3miles from the rd. in no mans land

The $50 Tascos aren't too terrible on batteries. Not nearly as good as the Bushnells or some of the other infrared cams, but I get 6 weeks out of the 4 D batteries. I use the Rayovac alkalines I get from Wal Mart for $1 each, so for 6 weeks it cost $4 to run a Tasco camera. I can live with that.

Cold temps don't seem to affect the Tascos like it does my Moultrie D40. I just looked at my records, and the Tasco that I had on my bobcat bait, I put new batteries in it on 12/30, and 5 weeks later I replaced them with new batteries, but only because a bobcat started showing up and I didn't want to take a chance of missing any pictures. My battery tester showed them at 60%, and normally I let them run down to 40% before I replace them.

(The Tasco is not reliable once the batteries get down to 40%, it will shut itself off)

When I bought my first Tasco I didn't expect much, but for the price I dont think you can beat it.

I like the primos 35. You can find them for under $100, they take great pictures (day and night), they are reliable, and if you have any troubles their customer service if great. I have six of these and love'em. I use rechargable batteries (4D's) and I get about 8GB's of pictures
