Mike Pallozzo

I might have spelled that wrong.

Mike Palazzo works out of his home in Covington, he did a good job for me on a rifle repair, I have seen lots of people recommend him for a variety of work.  He seemed like a great old guy to me.

I am sorry I did not have him install my brake. The guy who did could have done a much nicer job. He definitely comes highly recommended. There's a thread like this once a year or so and he's always the guy that gets the nod from about anyone.

Yep.....Mike Palazzo is the man. He pays an incredible attention to detail. He also makes his own brakes, builds custom benchrest guns of all calibers and flat out knows his chit. I've dealt with Mike on many occasions and he is the guy to go to.  He is just off SR18 at the Kent Kangley (SE272nd St.), go w/b from SR18 two traffic lights to 164th Ave SE, turn north bound, he is on the left about a block or so. Look for the sign "Villa Vera" in his front yard.
Checkin' wind and makin' smoke.
That's how I roll...

I installed a Vais on my rifle on the recommendation of Jackalope a year or so back.  My buddy did the install.

you will be very happy with it.  I'd guess a 50% decrease in recoil and 10% increase in sound.

Thanks, Rob!

Only a 10% increase in noise? I have read alot about the Vais brakes and their claim in that their in deed is little increase in noise..

But is that REALLY true?

BTW, from the time I mailed the check in, to the time I had it in hand was about 1.5 weeks.

It is a bit louder, that is true.  I did not measure it so my assumption is pretty subjective.  But I'd guess about 10% or so.

The gun I was firing (it is a wildcat)  went from recoil about equal to a 243 down to a smidge more than a 223 Rem.

I had a Defensive Edge brake installed on one of my Encore barrels.  It reduced the recoil a  lot but it's very loud.
I kinda wish I got the VIAS for the less noise factor and had someone else do it so the install would be neater.

Just so I have an idea of where NOT to go for the install.. do you mind sharing where you had it installed?

The brake Mike pallazo installed on my 300 wsm is the same diameter as the barrel and took the recoil down to .243 level. It's his own brake that he makes in his shop.

The guy who did it is no longer in business as far as I know...it's not that bad, I just see some of these on here that you can't even tell have a threaded on brake and wish I went that way. The DE brakes are a little bigger than the diameter of the barrel so they stand out a little anyway.
